What’s included? x6 ‘Dark pink themed’ pages of 0 - 10 number lines. Each version slightly different (with/without vertical number tracks above) x4 number lines per page. All displaying numbers 0-10 All other colours available in my TES shop (also for free) - I know how important colour (and choice!) can be for little learners! Resource layout This download includes x4 number lines per page, each displaying numbers from 0 - 10, all in landscape, PDF format, x6 sheets total. Each page is slightly different. These difference are listed below (top to bottom, in PDF order) - x4 number lines 0 - 10 Pink numbers, black box lines, NO vertical count on/back tracks above x4 number lines 0 - 10 Pink numbers, pink box lines, NO vertical count on/back tracks above (all pink) x4 number lines 0 - 10 Black numbers, pink box lines, NO vertical count on/back tracks above x4 number lines 0 - 10 Pink numbers, pink box lines, pink vertical count on/back tracks above (all pink) x4 number lines 0 - 10 Pink numbers, pink box lines, black vertical count on/back tracks above x4 number lines 0 - 10 Black numbers, pink box lines, pink vertical count on/back tracks above This resource enables learners to count on/back from 0 to 10 and have been designed to make using the number line and counting as clear as possible. The size 50 ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font makes the numbers easy to read and models good formation of all numerals from 0 to 10. The landscape format and area between each number line provides optimal space for drawing ‘jumps’ between numbers to track counting on and back both above and below each number line. Recommendations Different numbers could be covered to encourage learners to identify which number comes before/next. The black text versions makes this resource easy to photocopy and clear to view if placed under tracing paper to enable learners to practice their handwriting of number formation. Useful for… I hope this resource will be useful to range of educators including parents, support workers, additional and special needs assistants, tutors and teachers. Online learning This PDF has been designed to print and use as practical resource, laminated to enable reuse and displayed as clear reference aid. This resource is also ideal to upload and use in on-line classrooms, such as Sherpa. Important message… ANY issues with any of this please don’t hesitate to let me know - I am happy to make changes AND I am happy to create a new resource if you have an idea just let me know - I’d love to hear from you! Halving to 12 in order Fruit in colour

Halving to 12 in order Fruit in colour

(0)
What’s included? This download includes one resource - two pages featuring x12 ‘half’ problems (using fruit/veg) to complete - each of the x12 questions involves sharing the total amount (from 1 to 12) into two equal groups - or ‘halves’. The learner will discover which numbers between 1 and 12 can and cannot be halved and of those numbers which can be halved equally learners will identify how much ‘half’ is. Resource layout The learner can draw a line from each fruit/veg to each ‘plate’ pictured below to systematically share out the total number of items (fruit/veg) each time until all have been shared (or not!) I find it helpful for learners to say out loud “One for you and one for me” as each item is being shared/distributed to each plate either physically or as the line is being drawn linking the fruit/veg to each plate, every time. Where the total number is ‘even’ (and the fruit/veg can be shared out equally) the learner can write the number of fruit/veg on one plate (the ‘half’ amount) on the line underneath at the end of the question (e.g.) 'Half of 2 is 4 For the even numbers (which can successfully be split equally into half!) the learner can ‘circle’ the green ‘tick’ displayed, for the odd numbers (which cannot be shared equally into half!) the learner can ‘circle’ the red ‘cross’ displayed before moving on to the next question. At the end of the second sheet there are x12 matching questions about each individual number to recap on which of the numbers between 1 and 12 can/cannot be split equally into half. The colour of the box around each question correlates to the colour of the question completed above guiding the learner more clearly (visually) back to each question box above to check their finding if needed. There is also a space to write those numbers which can be split equally into half together (the even numbers!) and those which cannot be split equally into half can be written together (the odd numbers!). The questions in all boxes have been designed to look the same in order that the learner can make the discovery that ‘even’ numbers can be shared into two equal 'halves’ (and odd numbers cannot!) for themselves. Once complete this resource makes a useful reference tool to refer back to as needed to assist young learners during various maths linked activities. This resource uses ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font in sizes 18/22/25 making the text and numbers easy to read as well as modelling the process of halving numbers (from 1 to 12) clearly to young learners. Number bonds to 5 Diggers Link and match

(0)
What’s included? This download includes two A4 pages (landscape orientation) showing x10 number bonds to 5 sums (in order) in pdf format. The answers (page 2) are in the same layout for easy comparison. Who’s it for? These ‘number bonds’ have been carefully designed for early years and pupils as well as students needing additional learning support. This resource has been designed around ‘diggers’ with 'vehicle lovers’ in mind as to motivate our learners linking to personal interests wherever possible can be a powerful way to inspire and engage. Resource layout Page 1 On the left the learner is to match the number on the top of the digger with the matching number of rocks (towards the centre line) - drawing a line (from the ‘hole’ dots) to connect each number bond pair which makes 5. On the right the learner is to match the number on the top of the digger with the number of cones (towards the centre line) which - together - make a total of five. Page 2 Shows all number bonds matched (the answers) clearly displayed in the same layout for easy comparison and quick reference. The simple lay out of each doubles sum is an easy to use resource. Lines can be drawn on the sheet (and wiped off if laminated) using a short (15cm ruler) to show accurate matching. The numbers are size 16 ‘Avenir’ font, the headings are ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font, size 20. Recommendations If physical support materials are helpful to use as well small objects could be placed in each box such as small coloured matchsticks (if these are not deemed a choking hazard for little learner/s). Once the correct number of matchsticks/objects have been counted out into the boxes and the learner is content with ‘how many are needed to make 5’ the learner is to draw a line connecting the two numbers for each number bond which (together) make 5. This PDF has been designed to print and use as practical write-on resource, it could be laminated to enable reuse. Useful for The clear design makes this ‘number bonds to 5’ resource useful to range of educators including parents, support workers, additional and special needs assistants, tutors and teachers. Online learning This resource is also ideal to upload and use in on-line classrooms, such as Sherpa. Resource layout Page 1 In the upper section there is a row of ten tower blocks with a numbered main door. In the middle and lower section are two rows of five postal vans, each with a number and that same number of letters (envelopes). The learner is to match each number on the postal vans with the number of the tower block by drawing a line to connect each number bond pair (which makes 10). Page 2 Shows all number bonds matched (the answers) clearly displayed in the same layout (as page 1) for easy comparison and quick reference. Lines can be drawn on the sheet (and wiped off if laminated) using a ruler to show accurate matching. The numbers on the doors of the tower blocks are size 14 ‘Avenir’ font. The numbers on the postal vans are also Avenir font - size 20. The headings are ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font, size 16. The first page is an ‘information sheet’ - introducing learners to what a ‘centimetre’ is and what it is used for in images and words. Pages 2 to 4 (numbered 1-3) provide practical opportunity for learners to use the images of the rulers provided to carefully measure the length of each object (image) featured. Page number 1 focuses on ‘stationery’, page number 2 on ‘kitchen items’ and page number 3 on ‘tools’. Page 3 uses the vocabulary ‘longer’ and ‘shorter’ and looks at the difference (in cm) between the longest and shortest tool - which may be a new concept for some learners and so may require some support. Suggestion I would encourage learners to draw a vertical line from the end of each object to the number on the ruler above (using a pencil and ruler!) to be sure of what the total length for each item is. Important… This resource has been designed to provide learners with an opportunity to practice measuring using the images of rulers marked with cm. These rulers are illustrations of rulers and not exact centimetres. It is printed on each sheet that the ‘illustrations in this resource are not to scale’. Special request ANY issues with any of this please don’t hesitate to let me know - I am happy to make changes AND I am happy to create a new resource if you have an idea just let me know - I’d love to hear from you! A review of this resource would be brilliant! Thank you!

Data Handling 'Skittles' Count/sort

(0)
What’s included? This download includes seven A4, portrait pdf sheets to practise counting objects, sorting (colours) and data handling - transferring the information collected to a clear, simple bar chart. Paper Skittles included! Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one and two as well as older students needing additional learning support. Resource Details There are x7 sheets in total. Two sets of x3 - a colour and black and white version of the same resource plus a sheet of ‘paper Skittles’ to cut up and sort/count (if you don’t want to risk your learners eating their learning!) This activity is organised around one random amount (portion) of Skittles - each learner will need their own portion. Learners could be given a real Skittles or ‘paper/cardboard Skittles’. On the bar chart there is space for up to x24 Skittles of one colour so the amount of Skittles given to learners can be any number to fit their ability, however no more than x24 of any one colour group if you intend for learners to use the bar chart (pages 3/5). Page 1 Learners are to sort their portion of Skittles into x5 colour groups (red, orange, yellow, green and purple). Learners then count the number of Skittles in each group and write the total in each colour group ‘total’ box. Page 2 Using the information recorded on page 1 learners then transfer this information to the simple, clear bar chart. Learners can colour the same number of ‘colour’ boxes for each colour group of Skittles. Page 3 Using the information gathered through completing the activities on pages 1 and 2 the questions on page 3 are related to the same number (portion) of Skittles. All colour-names are printed clearly at the top of page 3 so that learners don’t need to think about colour-word spellings. Questions are related to ‘most’, ’least’, ’the same’, ’the difference between’, ’odd’ and ‘even’ numbers. What’s included? This download includes seven A4, portrait pdf sheets to practise counting up to 30, sorting (colours) and data handling - transferring the information collected to a clear, simple bar chart. Paper Smarties included! Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one and two as well as older students needing additional learning support. Resource Details There are x7 sheets in total. Two sets of x3 - a colour and black and white version of the same resource plus a sheet of ‘paper Smarties’ to cut up and sort/count (if you don’t want to risk your learners eating their learning!) This activity is organised around one tube of Smarties - each learner will need a tube each! Learners could be given a real tube with either real or ‘paper/cardboard Smarties’ inside. See attachment included to cut out and give your learners a random selection of paper Smarties instead. I have found tubes of Smarties have an average of x30 Smarties per tube but if you are giving learners paper/cardboard Smarties this really can be any number of course to fit their ability. The maximum number of one colour of Smarties which will fit on to the bar chart is 12. Page 1 Learners are to sort the Smarties in the tube into x8 colour groups (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink and brown). Learners then count the number of Smarties in each group and write the total in each colour group ‘total’ box. Page 2 Using the information recorded on page 1 learners then transfer this information to the simple, clear bar chart. Learners can colour the same number of ‘coloured boxes for each colour group of Smarties. There is space on the bar chart for up to 12 Smarties (for each colour group). Page 3 Using the information gathered through completing the activities on pages 1 and 2 the questions on page 3 are related to the same tube/number of Smarties. All colour-names are printed clearly at the top of page 3 so that learners don’t need to think about colour-word spellings. Questions are related to ‘most’, ’least’, ’the same’, ’the difference between’, ’odd’ and ‘even’ numbers. What’s included? This download includes x2 A4, portrait pdf sheets to practise counting up to 7 types of traffic/ways of travel and data handling - transferring the information collected to a clear, simple block diagram. There is also a space to add in your own ‘traffic’ should this be needed. Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one and two as well as older students needing additional learning support. Resource Details There are x2 stages to this activity, going out (always with an adult!) to count vehicles for an agreed amount of time and transferring the information collected onto a block diagram. Page 1 Learners are to count the number of vehicles observed passing along a road (from a safe distance and always with adult supervision!) The types of vehicles included on the recording sheet are cars, vans, buses, trucks/lorries, bicycles, motorbikes, pedestrians. There is a space to add another type of traffic in the lowest box. Page 2 Using the information recorded on page 1 learners then transfer this information to the simple, clear block diagram. The vehicles listed on the ‘traffic survey’ sheet are included in the same order here to assist the process of transferring this information. Learners can colour the same number of ‘coloured boxes for each group of vehicles. There is space on the bar chart for up to 12 vehicles (for each vehicle group). Vehicle groups with any more than 12 should colour up to 12 as this indicates ‘12+’. Doubles to 10 Robots with recap questions

(0)
What’s included? This download includes x9 pdf pages, each featuring x10 robots (x3 black and white versions, x3 black and white with rainbow coloured dots versions and x3 rainbow (coloured) versions). All are in portrait orientation. What’s it for? These resources can be used to introduce learners to doubles and/or consolidate learners knowledge of doubles to 10. Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in year one as well as older students needing additional learning support. Resource details This activity has been designed to write straight on. Each page clearly features ten robots with ten recap questions at the end. Each robot’s chest clearly shows one part of each double (in ‘dots’) in order/random order up to 10. Learners complete the other half (of each double) by drawing ‘dots’ e.g. with a thick felt pen onto the space on the right side of each robot’s chest. Learners then write the total number of dots on the line underneath to complete the sentence e.g. ‘Double 1 is 2.’ The robots and questions are both in order and random order - you choose which to use depending on what best suits the needs of your learner/s. Size 16/17 ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font makes the text easy to read and clearly models the process of doubling numbers to 10 to young learners. The x10 recap questions at the end enable learners to consolidate their ‘doubles knowledge’. In two of the colour version sheets the ‘outline colour’ of each ‘question box’ matches the robot colour - providing a visual link for the learner to check back to each corresponding robot, if needed, before committing to writing answers in the question boxes at the end. There is a clear space at the top of each sheet for learners to write their name and a space to record the number date (top, right). Lines of Symmetry Alphabet Capital Letters Investigation

(0)
What’s included? x4 sheets, landscape orientation, pdf format. Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for pupils in the early years, years one and two as well as older students who would benefit from investigating the concept of ‘symmetry’ and ‘symmetrical’ or students needing additional learning support. What’s it for? This resource has been designed to encourage learners to investigate the lines of symmetry for all x26 capital letters of the alphabet! How to use it? The resource has been designed for learners to investigate the lines of symmetry by first cutting around each capital letter to investigate one letter at a time. It is best to begin by folding letters and cutting once learners are sure they have found a solid line of symmetry. A (safety!) mirror could be helpful as a back up to check (especially if letters have already been cut up!) Resource Details… Learners will need a pair of scissors each to begin this activity. Page 1. At the top are ‘larger’ capital letters, each within a dotted box - these dots guide where to cut. Learners can cut out one of these larger letters at a time (to avoid having lots of letters in front of them at once and risk losing some). Learners will need a pair of scissors each to begin this activity. Along the length of base side of the sheet is a set of smaller capital letters designed to be cut with two simple snips (vertically up to the red line and then horizontally) to separate these from the sheet one at a time. These are designed to be used to record findings (answers) - on page 2. The larger capital letters can go into the bin after they have been cut up, folded and investigated. Page 2. Learners will need a pencil to their write their name at the base of page 2 and access to a glue stick to continue their investigation using page 2. Once learners have investigated and discovered which letters are symmetrical they can snip and stick the smaller capital letters (at the base of page 1) onto either the left or right of page 2 - depending on whether they are/are not symmetrical. Page 3 clearly shows which capital letters are/are not symmetrical, this is intended to be a reference sheet for learners once they have completed their investigation. Page 4 also clearly shows which capital letters are/are not symmetrical, but in more detail - including where the actual lines of symmetry are. For learners who might find the concept of symmetry difficult they can use page 4 (instead of page 1) and use the lines of symmetry included here to explore for themselves where to fold to investigate ‘symmetry’ with support. What’s included? This pdf download includes six (rainbow themed) ‘number bonds to 10’ pages, all presented in portrait orientation. Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for pupils in Reception, Y1 and Y2 as well as students needing additional learning support. What’s it for? To practise recalling number bonds to 10 facts as well as providing the opportunity to identify number ‘patterns’ which are helpful in identifying missing numbers in a sequence. Resource 1 (in order) x2 pages include x12 number bonds (to 10) questions to complete in ‘order’, with answers. Page 1 has been designed to be a ‘cut and stick’ missing numbers activity, however missing numbers can be written in the empty boxes instead, either works. The number bonds are listed in this order: 0 + 10 1 + 9 2 + 8 3 + 7 4 + 6 5 + 5 10 + 0 9 + 1 8 + 2 7 + 3 6 + 4 5 + 5 Answers are clearly presented on page 2. Page 2 could also be used as a reference resource for display Resource 2 (random order) x2 pages include x12 number bonds (to 10) questions to complete in ‘random order’, with answers. Page 1 has been designed to be a ‘cut and stick’ missing numbers activity, however missing numbers can be written in the empty boxes instead, either works. The number bonds are listed in this order: 3 + 7 4 + 6 5 + 5 1 + 9 1 + 10 2 + 8 7 + 3 6 + 4 5 + 5 1 + 9 10 + 1 8 + 2 Answers are clearly presented on page 2.
